The Worlds Best Ever - Juxtapoz - Book By Its Cover - My Love For You...

OAKLAND, CA - October, 2008 - John Casey's new book Scarecrow showcases his unique brand of fantastic and grotesque illustration. Casey's work combines realistic human forms with aspects of the fantastic, producing figures that are both familiar and otherworldly.

Casey has described his work as "self-portraits that express his inner psyche". His drawings reveal confused and tormented souls that find their head or limbs are deformed manifestations. The bold but limited use of color, and often delicate line-work, lends a melancholy beauty to the figurative monstrosities.

Scarecrow features over 60 new drawings. The 6" x 9" book features 2-color offset printing on 100% recycled paper, with secret "ghost" pages, and an introductory essay by James Kaufmann. Each copy of this limited 1st edition is signed and numbered by the artist.
